Pensacola area fishing report for the week of December 1st through 7th 2017

August 27, 2021

Hello Everyone! I hope all yall had a good Thanksgiving holiday.
Here along the Gulf Coast the weather has been relatively mild. We are starting to get some cooler weather with some passing cold fronts.
The inshore fishing has been good for big bull reds in Pensacola Bay and off the beaches. The speckled trout and smaller reds are moving to the mouths of local rivers, up in canals and bayous. Flounder fishing has been hit and miss. Most flounder have moved out in the gulf to spawn but some can still be caught on some shallow water wrecks.
Offshore fishing has been good when the conditions have allowed us to get out. Lots of Amberjacks and big sharks are being caught. If you’re looking to target some fish to eat while offshore fishing the vermillion snapper are plentiful now.
I’ll keep yall posted with new reports as I get them. In the meantime stay safe and tight lines!
Thank you,
Captain James Pfeiffer
