On the Water

Fishing Pensacola

Pensacola Bay and the surrounding Gulf waters are incredibly diverse and productive. Inshore, we consistently target Speckled Trout and Redfish, with spring and fall being prime seasons for these species as they move through the bay systems and estuaries. Flounder are also a popular catch, often found near structure and channels. As we venture into the Gulf, Spanish Mackerel provide exciting action during the warmer months, and opportunities to hook into a large Cobia near buoys and wrecks are always present. Snapper fishing on the nearshore reefs is excellent throughout much of the year. A charter out of Pensacola gives you access to a wide range of fishing environments, from shallow flats to offshore structure.

Fishing Pensacola FAQ

What are the best seasons for Speckled Trout in Pensacola?
Speckled Trout fishing is excellent in the spring and fall when they are actively feeding in the bays and estuaries. Summer can also yield good results, especially during cooler parts of the day.
How far offshore do you go for Snapper fishing from Pensacola?
We typically fish for Snapper on nearshore reefs and structures, which are usually within a few miles of shore. This makes them accessible for most trip lengths.
What is the best way to catch Cobia in Pensacola?
Cobia are often caught by sight fishing around buoys, wrecks, and even floating debris in the Gulf. They also respond well to live bait and jigs presented near structure.
