How September fished

September’s fishing notes put the spotlight on the latter part of the month. The clearest highlight was September 19, when we got into Spanish Mackerel and put 41 fish in the boat. The day was described as family fun from start to finish. That combination of fish coming aboard and an enjoyable time together is what stood out in the account, rather than a particular lure, location or set of conditions.

On September 20, the focus shifted to Snapper. We landed 13 and enjoyed spending time fishing among friends. It was a successful outing in its own right, with a different catch from the previous day. Those dated accounts give a more useful picture of the fishing than treating September as one uniform bite. They describe what happened on the water at the time, without promising that a future visit will bring the same result.

The September 21 account described a productive morning, with a dozen fish landed. The emphasis again was on recreational fishing and enjoying the action as fish came over the rail. Alongside the other highlights, it adds another view of the month: the pleasure of getting out, having a target for the morning and bringing a catch to the boat. We have kept the individual catch figures tied to their dates rather than presenting them as a complete monthly total.

The photos and linked reports below show the outings behind this summary. Spanish Mackerel and Snapper are the species supported by the catch tags for this period; the individual accounts provide the fuller context. September’s highlights are a record of those fishing experiences, not a forecast for the next trip. For anyone planning a visit to Pensacola, they offer a starting point for a conversation about the fishing they would like to do. Ask us about current options when choosing a date.
